Since our slow juicers can also juice citrus, customers naturally wonder why they should consider getting the citrus attachment. In short, the citrus attachment is a more convenient way to make citrus-only recipes. This includes orange juice, lemonade, limeade, and other citrus-based beverages.
This blog breaks down four reasons to use the citrus attachment over the regular juicer for citrus-only juices.
1. Less Prep
One of the main benefits of the citrus attachment is that you don’t have to peel your citrus fruits!
When using the citrus attachment, all you need to do is halve your citrus fruits and press them onto the reamer. When you juice with the regular juicer, you may have to peel your citrus fruits before juicing because the peels affect the taste of your juice.
Citrus peels tend to have strong, bitter flavors that will negatively affect the taste of your juice. This is why we typically peel our oranges and grapefruits. Our exceptions are lemons and limes because their sourness overpowers their bitterness. However, some prefer to peel all their citrus.
If you choose to juice citrus with the regular juicer, you’ll have to spend some time peeling before juicing. Therefore, the citrus attachment makes for easier and faster prep, and you don't have to worry about taste!
2. Easier Assembly & Cleanup
Another benefit of the citrus attachment is that it's easier to assemble and clean.

It also has fewer parts, all detachable, for a faster clean. In total, there are 4 parts: the pitcher, the reamer, the filter, and the lid.
3. Faster Juicing
While the citrus attachment isn't hands-free like some of our juicers, the actual juicing is faster.
We tested the citrus attachment and found that it takes approximately 20 seconds to juice half an orange. Juicing two full oranges takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds.
To compare, juicing 2 peeled oranges whole in the regular juicer took about 2 minutes and 35 seconds.
4. Convenient Pouring & Storage
Earlier, we mentioned that the citrus attachment also functions as a pitcher.
You can easily pour using the spout and don't have to transfer the juice to another pitcher or container after juicing. You can remove the reamer, place the lid on, and store it in the refrigerator.
The lid also fits on the pitcher even with the reamer installed, allowing you to store it in one piece when not in use.
